Williams Moving and Storage collects pennies for ALS caregivers
A Coquitlam moving company is collecting pennies to support caregivers looking after patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Williams Moving and Storage at 2401 United Boulevard, Coquitlam is collecting the coins that will soon be out of circulation.
The money goes to the George “Sonny” Williams Memorial Endowment to support caregivers of people living with ALS. In 2009, because of the support of people attending the golf tournament and other Williams Moving & Storage fundraisers, four Caregivers Days were sponsored in the Okanagan, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and West Kootenays.
Another 200,000 pennies are needed to reach a goal of raising 1 million pennies for ALS.
