West 49 in Coquitlam Centre launches Coats for Kids campaign

With the cold weather approaching, it's time to bundle up. But for many struggling families, buying winter wear is not in the budget.

That's why West 49 is holding its annual Coats for Kids drive.

The clothing store geared to teens hopes to collect 10,000 coats between now and Nov. 29. Among the stores collecting coats is the West 49 at Coquitlam Centre, which intends to pass on the coats to Covenant House.

Coat collection barrels will be placed in each and every store and everyone who brings in a clean, insulated gently used winter coat to any West 49 store across Canada will receive $25 off any winter jacket.

This year, West 49 is encouraging their customers to share these stories and thanks through a web site that demonstrates how this campaign has touched people’s lives.

Since 2002 West 49 has been collecting coats for kids who need to keep warm in the winter and has collected and donated more than 80,000 jackets to needy families across Canada.
