RIVERVIEW STORIES: Public tree walks continue at Riverview

TreeFest will go ahead this fall on Riverview Hospital lands and other public walks are planned, as well.

The Riverview Horticultural Centre Society continues to hold public tree walks and other events even though the hospital is closing. The following dates have been set:

• Sunday, July 15: summer tree tour

• Sunday, Aug. 12: Catalpa north end tree tour

• Sunday Aug. 19: Burke Mountain Naturalists heritage walk

• Saturday, Sept. 15: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., TreeFest 2012

• Sunday, Oct. 14: Last public tour of the season.

All tours take place at 1 p.m. For further information, call 604-290-9910; check out the website at www.rhcs.org
