If you know a volunteer in Port Coquitlam who’s deserving of an excellence award from the city, you have until March 6 to nominate them.

The municipality is now accepting submissions for its annual Volunteer Recognition Night in April, which this year has the theme Volunteers Help Us Soar.

Entries are open for: Arts, Heritage & Cultural Awareness; Caring & Safety; Environmental Protection & Enhancement; Sports & Recreation; Youth Programs; U21 (youth under age 21); and Lifetime Volunteer.

Winners receive a personalized glass trophy, a commemorative pin and two tickets to the awards night that’s sponsored by FortisBC. As well, the winners’ names will be added to the honour roll at city hall.

Nominees don’t have to live in PoCo; however, they can’t be a previous award recipient.
