Royal party sought for annual May Day fete in Port Coquitlam

Elementary school students living or studying in Port Coquitlam have until Sunday to apply to be part of this year's May Day royal party.

The May Day Queen, ambassador, flower girls, princesses and lancers are picked randomly at the selection tea on April 10 to be included the annual festivities such as the banquet and opening ceremonies on May 5 as well as the parade and luncheon on May 13.

The May Day celebrations date back to 1923.
