Summer Fun! at PdA

Registration starts May 1 for Place des Arts’ popular Summer Fun! art camps.

Parents can sign up their kids for visual art, music, dance, drama and literary art classes for part — or all -— of the five-week block, July 4 to Aug. 5.

Children aged five to 12 can join hour-long courses, while youth aged 12 to 14 can pick what three-hour intensive workshops they want to participate in during the week.

Here a sample of what the Maillardville facility is offering:

For five- to 12-year-olds: Art from Nature, Creative Movement, Digital Photography, Circus Arts, Claymation, Build a Bug, Cartooning, Drama Fun, Dye and Knit, Embroidery, Happy Hands Drumming, Fibre Arts, Stitch-A-Stuffie, Street Dance and Start Acting Out!;

• and for 12- to 14-year-olds: Summer Clay, Jewellery Design, Fantasy Writing, Inspired Writing, Stage Combat, Songwriting, Fibre Arts Sampler, Musical Theatre and Digital Photography.

Classes start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m.; after-hour care is also available for $5.
