Coquitlam's own Lalainia Lindbjerg Strelau stars as Cindy Lou in The Marvelous Wonderettes, a 1950s musical that opened this month at the PAL Theatre in Vancouver.

Directed by Jerry Jan Cranford, the show — presented by Hey Look... It's a Co-op! — revolves around the 1958 senior prom at Springfield high school, an era when such songs as Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, It's My Party and Leader of the Pack were all the rage.

The Marvelous Wonderettes runs until Feb. 26 at PAL (581 Cardero St.), with performances at 8 p.m. and matinees on Feb. 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.

Tickets at $30/$25 are available at the door or online at www.tickets tonight.ca. Visit www. marvelouswonderettes.ca.
