"Laughter is the best medicine" is the theme for a comedy fundraiser in Port Coquitlam next week.

Proceeds from the event — which feature acts by Nic Enright-Morin, Lisa Person, Hector Rivas, Marlene Swidzinski, Mike Whittaker and Jacques Lalonde — will benefit the PoCo Stroke and Recovery Group.

It is being produced by Alison Ogilvie, the organization's program co-ordinator. "They are a wonderful group of people who all enjoy getting out and about, and they all enjoy a joke," she said of her members.

The show is on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Wilson Centre (2185 Wilson Ave.). Tickets are $10 in advance by calling 604-367-8782 or emailing pocostrokerecovery@gmail.com, or $12 at the door.
