A cancer survivor from Coquitlam and his 27-year-old son will compete in the fifth season of The Amazing Race Canada.
The hit show, which returns to CTV next Tuesday (July 4) at 8 p.m., will feature Shabbir Dhalla, 57, a hospitality director, and his son Zed Dhalla, a healthcare national account manager from Vancouver.
Shabbir, who grew up in Africa while his mother worked for the United Nations, was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in 2009.
The show sees teams of pairs race around Canada, through its urban centres to its most-remote outposts.
