Gleneagle secondary’s Mi Li took in the top award at last week’s School District 43 Reel Stars Student Film Festival.
The ninth annual awards saw the Coquitlam student’s flick, Time Haunters, gain first place while Trevor Walls of Heritage Woods secondary in Port Moody was named the top filmmaker.
The event, which was held June 13 at Port Moody secondary, aims to promote student filmmaking and drew 70 submissions from four SD43 high schools (Gleneagle, Heritage Woods, Port Moody and Centennial) as well as Archbishop Carney regional secondary school.
Twenty entries were picked for film and animation accolades and were featured at the gala as part of a live online broadcast.
