Port Coquitlam Mayor Brad West got a close shave this morning (Nov. 1) from Darcy Cameron of the Gentlemen's House of Grooming to launch Movember, a national campaign to build awareness and raise funds for men's health.
In Port Coquitlam, the firefighters' charitable society is taking the lead in the Tri-Cities for its 10th year in month-long campaign, and is planning to wrap up its efforts with a hockey tournanment at Planet Ice in Coquitlam.
That event takes place on Nov. 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a goal is to net $25,000 for the cause.
Coquitlam Fire/Rescue is also part of the Movember drive, which sees men grow their moustaches and beards during November in recognition of men's health challenges.
