The Coquitlam Adanacs opens its Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) season Friday, May 24, in Burnaby against the Lakers.

The team plays its first home game at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex the next night, May 25, against the Nanaimo Timbermen.

All but two of the Adanacs’ nine home games will be played on Saturdays.

The only exceptions are a game against the Maple Ridge Burrards on Tuesday, June 25, and another on Tuesday, July 16 against the New Westminster Salmonbellies.

The regular season concludes July 27, when Coquitlam hosts Burnaby.

With a new coach, Steve McKinlay, behind the bench, and several graduates from local junior programs vying for roster spots, the Adanacs are hoping to improve on the two wins the team managed last season.

Coquitlam last qualified for the WLA playoffs in 2022, when it was eliminated in the opening round by the Timbermen in four straight games.
