Port Moody police investigating knife altercation outside school

A 15-year-old has been arrested after an altercation involving a knife near Heritage Woods Secondary School in Port Moody on Monday, Nov. 20.

According to a release, Port Moody police (PMPD) responded to a call about an altercation between two youths at a bus stop in the 1300 block of David Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the situation escalated when one of the youths started chasing the other with a knife through a crowd of students.

Nobody was injured and PMPD spokesperson Const. Sam Zacharias said the investigation is continuing.

"The incident was so brazen and occurred as hundreds of youths were leaving school for the day," he said, adding police are aware video of the incident is circulating and more witnesses have yet to be interviewed.
