Club hosts Wow event

The third annual Wow Toastmaster Extravaganza will showcase amazing speaking talent including Golden Gavel Award winner Peter Legge.

This event, taking place at the ACT Theatre in Maple Ridge, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., is organized by eight clubs from Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Maple Ridge that combined efforts to promote Toastmasters in the area.

Also speaking will be Toastmasters International's incoming president Pat Johnson, with keynote speaker honours going to Angela Louie, who placed second in the 2005 Toastmaster International Speech Competition.

Peter Roundhill, also a keynote speaker, will be speaking to the crowd.

The event provides a theatre audience on which existing Toastmasters can practise their craft, an opportunity to see how the club could help others, and a chance to see accomplished speakers who learned their skills from the club.
