All quiet on the budget front at SD43 board meeting
School District 43 will be holding its second board meeting of the year tomorrow, Tuesday at the board office at 7:30 p.m., and no delegates are expected to appear to talk about the budget even though a special time has been set aside for this purpose.
There were no delegates to speak about the budget at the last board meeting on Jan. 10, either.
Individuals or groups interested in speaking directly to trustees about how the district will spend approximately $260 million next year must state their intention to the board office prior to the meeting.
Other topics on the agenda, however, include community link funding for vulnerable students, expansion of Coquitlam Open Learning for students doing part of their education on line, and the district's new print strategy to cut down on the use of paper.
The board typically sets its budget in late April so staff hires can be made in May.
