Teachers strike: Parents, students react on Twitter, Facebook
Parents, students and pundits are reacting online to the B.C. Teachers Federation decision to begin a full-scale strike starting Monday.
Teachers are permitted to strike for three days next week, pending back-to-work legislation to be passed by the provincial government.
According to the Facebook group B.C. High School Student Walkout, more than 15,000 secondary school students in the Lower Mainland intend to leave classes Friday afternoon to demonstrate at the Vancouver Art Gallery to "show the provincial government that we care about our education."
