One bit of fall-out from the teacher's job action this week is the cancellation of the School District 43 board of education meeting scheduled for last night (Tuesday).

Originally slated for March 6, the meeting has now been postponed to Tuesday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the district board office.

SD43 spokesperson Cheryl Quinton said the meeting was the last chance for delegates to speak on the 2012/’13 budget and because so many delegates were teachers, who would not be able to attend, the meeting was cancelled.

"The board wanted to provide an opportunity at a later date for teachers to appear in person to present rather than just submit a presentation, which may occur because of job action," Quinton said in an email.
