A byelection date has been set for April 19 for Port Moody-Coquitlam today, putting to rest weeks of speculation about the seat vacated last fall by MLA Iain Black.

Candidates named so far include former Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini, representing the New Democratic Party, and Dennis Marsden, a credit union manager and former Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce president, who will be representing the B.C. Liberals.

The standard-bearer for the B.C. Conservative Party is Christine Clark, is director and chair of advocacy for the Canadian Skin Care Alliance.
