Celebrate Coquitlam's francophone heritage
Celebrate the early days of Maillardville next weekend during the 103rd anniversary celebration at Heritage Square in Coquitlam. This will be an opportunity to mark the beginning of the community's francophone heritage with a party sponsored by the Sociéte francophone de Maillardville and the Coquitlam Heritage Society at the square located at 1120 Brunette Ave. The party takes place Saturday, Sept. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. and there will be music, dance, a barbecue and activities for the children. Also on the program is a presentation of Quebec miniaturist, Therese Morneau, whose replica village called "D'un village å l'autre will open at Centre Bel-Age, 1200 Cartier Ave, Coquitlam this Monday, Sept. 10 from 3-5 p.m. For more information, contact 604-515-7070.
