Traffic to transition to new Port Mann Bridge Friday night

PMB1.jpg

Construction crews on the new Port Mann Bridge will be transitioning traffic to the new crossing tonight, one night earlier than previously planned.

A press release from the Transportation Investment Corporation, which is overseeing construction of the bridge, said that wet weather on Saturday means the crossing would be opened on Friday instead of Saturday.

Crews will implement the transition, including removing barriers and adjusting line painting and lane markings at either end of the bridge tonight (Nov. 16).

Early on Saturday morning, vehicles will follow the new alignment, beginning just west of 152 Street and will rejoin the current highway alignment just east of the Cape Horn Interchange.

Drivers are asked to use caution and watch for crews while this transition takes place.
