School District 43 is about to launch into the world of social media but first it needs some advice.
After hiring a social media worker a month ago, the district has now posted an online survey to gauge the social media habits of students, parents, staff and community members.
Spokesperson Cheryl Quinton said the survey will provide the district with information on how best to communicate when it establishes its social media presence before the new year.
In the spring, the district put $50,000 into the budget for a social media support person but its following most other districts in the Lower Mainland, including Burnaby, Richmond, West Vancouver, Vancouver and Surrey which already post information on Twitter and Facebook.
The survey is open until Dec. 1 and is available here
