Library branch officially opens Saturday

Coquitlam will celebrate the opening of its new City Centre library branch on Saturday with plenty of activities for kids as well as entertainment and tours for older book lovers.

The festivities run from 12:30 to 4 p.m (with speeches at 1 p.m.) at 1169 Pinetree Way, next to Henderson Place mall.

Designed by David Nairne and Associates, the modern $15-million facility includes multi-purpose rooms and a raised fireside lounge, and is more than three times larger than the former site at city hall.
