Rush is on to collect food for struggling families

Thousands of items need to be collected between now and Dec. 9 to make sure holiday hampers are filled for struggling families who use the Share Family and Community Services food banks.

Here's a list of items that are desperately needed; drop them in the food collection box at your grocery store, or bring them by the Port Moody food bank at 2615 Clarke St. (in the rear). Cash donations are also welcome. For more information, visit www.sharesociety.ca.

Pancake Mix and Syrup

Juice 1L

Peanut Butter and Jam

Canned Hams

Canned Vegetables

Canned Tomatoes

Rice

Pasta & Tomato Sauce

Stuffing Mix

Dry Noodle & Rice Mixes

Canned Meat & Fish

Canned Meals (stews & ravioli)

Condiments

Canned Fruit

Pudding

Chocolate

Granola Bars, Cookies

Nuts (peanuts, almonds etc)

Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate
