Coquitlam SAR volunteer identified as man killed in Anmore last week
Coquitlam RCMP have identified the pedestrian killed Thursday morning after being hit by a dump truck that was working on a new middle school in Anmore.
Roland Humphreys Webb, 37, was walking his dog along East Road at about 9:30 a.m. and had just stepped into the crosswalk at Hummingbird Drive when he was hit by the truck, which was traveling east, police say.
"Our victim services is working with Roland's family to deal with this very tragic incident," spokesperson Cpl. Jamie Chung said. "Roland was a supervisor at BC Ambulance and a member of the Coquitlam Search and Rescue. He was well-liked and respected by his peers and subordinates alike.
"His untimely death is a great loss to the community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Roland's family and his friends," Chung said.
