Photos of Fox needed for museum exhibit
Canada's Museum of Civilization is looking for original photos of Port Coquitlam's most famous son, Terry Fox.
The museum needs digital copies of images snapped of Fox during his Marathon of Hope in 1980. The pictures will be included as part of the museum's exhibit in 2015 to mark the 35th anniversary of Fox's epic journey to raise money for cancer research.
The images and accompanying stories from the photographers will be used to compile a chronology of the Marathon of Hope as Fox ran from St. John's, N.L., on April 12, 1980 to Thunder Bay, Ont., on Sept. 1, 1980.
Photos will be accepted in jpg format, at least 300 dpi, in black and white or in colour, and should not exceed 4 MB. Captions should be no longer than 300 words.
Afterwards, the photographs will stay at the museum as part of its national collection for future generations to study.
Submissions will be accepted until Sept. 25, 2014. To send photos or for more information, visit www.civilization.ca/terryfox.
