$10,000 reward still on table for information in realtor assault, says BCREA
The B.C. Real Estate Association (BCREA) said it will continue to offer a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of a man who sexually assaulted a realtor during an open house in Port Coquitlam last spring.
Mounties have followed up on several tips since they released a sketch of the suspect last summer, however they have not received any information that has led to an arrest.
"Although these incidents are rare, realtor safety remains an important area of concern for the real estate profession," said Robert Laing, chief executive officer of BCREA. "BCREA will continue to offer $10,000 for information."
The association said the award will be available until July 18, 2014.
The incident took place during an open house on Rowland Street in Port Coquitlam on May 4. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries and was able to convince the man to leave the home.
On July 17, police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as an Asian male in his mid-30s with dark hair and eyes with some bumps on his face.
Investigators said he was wearing a T-shirt, jeans and running shoes at the time of the incident.
Anyone with any information on the assault is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2013-12208. Anyone wishing to provide information anonymously can do so by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or going to www.solvecrime.ca.
