Coquitlam woman's murder trial set for Nov. 18
A jury has been selected and a trial date has been set for a 42-year-old Coquitlam woman charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of Peter Markus more than three years ago.
Markus' body was found inside a trailer at the Wildwood Mobile Park on Cayer Street, just off Brunette Avenue at around 11 a.m. on Jan. 4. Daigle was taken into custody 18 days later.
Investigators have said the victim and suspect knew each other and that the matter was being treated as a domestic-related homicide.
A person who lived at the trailer park told The Tri-City News at the time of the incident that the victim was a "quiet guy" who worked as a carpet layer.
The woman added that the man and his girlfriend argued frequently and that police had visited the home several times in the previous summer.
Jury selection was completed Monday and the trial is expected to begin Nov. 18 in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.
The cause of death has not been released.
