Collision between Coquitlam RCMP cruiser and civilian vehicle sends two to hospital

Investigators say both suffered minor injuries in the collision, which occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday morning.

Two people were sent to hospital with minor injuries after a collision occurred between a Coquitlam RCMP cruiser and a civilian vehicle shortly before 6 a.m. Friday morning.

The officer was responding to a call in the area of Lougheed Highway and Coast Meridian Road when the crash occurred. 

"The scene was immediately secured and the Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Service have been called to assist in the investigation," said the Coquitlam RCMP in a press release. "At this time the circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation."

Investigators were able to clear the scene at around 11 a.m.
