Another patient who escaped the Coquitlam institution last month, Violet Edna Miharija, has not been located.

David Fomradas has been taken into custody in Lethbridge, Alberta.

The 38-year-old had failed to return to a Forensic Psychiatric Hospital housing program on the Riverview Hospital grounds on Feb. 10 and was reported missing two days later.

In 2009 Fomradas was involved in the bizarre carjacking attempt in downtown Vancouver in which actors Kris and Carly Pope were both injured and the vehicle they were in was smashed into the CBC building. Fomradas was found not criminally responsible in 2010 and sent to the Colony Farm hospital.

He escaped while out on a day pass in 2012, prompting an internal review at the hospital and a crackdown on the day pass program.

Coquitlam RCMP reported Fomradas had been taken into custody without incident early Monday morning by the Lethbridge Police Department, and was scheduled to appear in court later in the day to initiate his transfer back to B.C.

There has been no updates on another Forensic Psychiatric patient who also went missing at the same time as Fomradas.
