Port Moody’s byelection race is heating up with four people officially announcing their candidacy by filing nomination papers.

As of Friday morning, candidates seeking votes in the upcoming Sept. 30 by-election include businessman Richard Biedka, Hunter Madsen, a co-organizer of the Save Bert Flinn Park group, Jeanette Jackson, a tech executive, and Karen Rockwell, former councillor and union representative with Move Up.

Nomination papers will be accepted until Friday, Aug. 25 for the by election to replace former councillor Rick Glumac who was elected MLA for the riding of Port Moody-Coquitlam in the provincial election.
