Port Moody hard hit by snow

Power outage, trees down, West Coast Express delayed or stopped

Sunday's dump of snow has left some commuters stranded and others staying at home.

News reports from across the region suggest lighter traffic in some areas and urge caution on slushy roads as the weekend snow turns to rain.

Among the highlights reported this Monday morning:

• BC Hydro reports power outages in much of Port Moody

• Flooding has been reported on Lougheed Highway in Coquitlam near North Road, and near the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station

• Translink reports West Coast Express trains 1 and 2 stopped between Moody Centre and Waterfront due to a fallen tree, and the Expo Line and Millennium Line, including the Evergreen Extension, are experiencing some delays due to snow tripping off intrusion alarms

• Bus service to SFU has been cancelled due to snow

• The 159 Braid bus via Shaughnessy and Pitt River Road is omitting Mary Hill in Port Coquitlam.

• Slush has turned to water in some parts of Coquitlam, with some routes
