The city of Coquitlam kicked off its 125th birthday in style today (Saturday) with song, dance, visual arts, theatre and storytelling.

And it also unveiled the dozen salmon sculptures that will be the legacy art of the milestone year.

Artists and their sponsors stood by the handpainted sculptures — designed by Squamish Nation artist Jody Broomfield — to uncover the public art that will dot the city's landscape.

The Kaleidoscope festival is free to the public and includes a stellar music lineup like Greg Drummond (5:45 p.m.) and Yukon Blonde (9 p.m.).

On Sunday, the bands scheduled to play at the Town Centre Park Plaza are:

• Coquitlam Youth Orchestra 11 a.m.

• Canoe Quintet 12:30 p.m.

• Blackthorn 2 p.m.

• Brickhouse 3:30 p.m.

• Odds 5 p.m.

• Jim Byrnes 7 p.m.
