LETTER: Another Christmas, another tax increase
The Editor,
Re. “Get ready to pay more on your Coq. tax bill” (The Tri-City News, Dec. 12).
As ever at Christmas, this Coquitlam city administration demonstrates a total disregard for taxpayers’ ability to pay inflated taxes.
Every year, we hear the same song of 5% or 6% increases in property taxes. When is someone going to be held responsible for projects such as the Chimo swimming pool overrun? When this city going to learn to live within its financial means?
If I were to run my household like the city, I would be bankrupt very shortly.
When is this going to stop? I have the feeling the answer is never unless we vote this inept council out of office and hold next administration to tax increases tied to the rate of inflation.
Mark Sadowski, Coquitlam
