The Editor,

Thank you to the unknown gentleman who stopped on Shaughnessy Street last Sunday to help me try to catch our “granddog,” Abby, who was spooked by a slamming door in the afternoon.

When we ran after her when she escaped our custody, she bolted across Shaughnessy.

This kind gentleman stopped his car, jumped out and proceeded to help.

Abby had other ideas and miraculously ran the light at Mary Hill Bypass and Shaughnessy as I watched in fear anticipating the worst.

Some kind motorists let me continue my pursuit, catching up to her having a brief swim in the Fraser River.

We are all grateful she escaped without injury and I only endured scratches and bruises.
