PoMo Gunners grab victory

pomosoccer.jpg

Nima Ranji scored his team’s first goal then assisted on what proved the winner as the Port Moody Gunners gobbled up Surrey ACBC 3-1 in a Fraser Valley Soccer League men’s Premier Division contest Wednesday.

Kevin Comeau, on a diving header, and Dan Bordignon also tallied for the Gunners, who sit second at 4-2-2 to still-unbeaten PoCo FC at 7-1-0 in the 10-team standings.

Brent Godin was solid in net for the winners.

NITRO TANK LOW

Midfielders Laura McIlveen and Kassi Coupal were standouts but their Port Moody Nitro dropped a tough 2-0 decision Sunday to the Vancouver United Roadrunners in a girls Under-17 Gold division soccer contest.
