Tri-Cities athletes trigger SFU Clan teams
Coquitlam’s Cara Lukawesky of Coquitlam pitched three wins on the weekend as the Simon Fraser Clan swept a pair of doubleheaders against the Western Washington Vikings in university women’s softball play.
The victories move the Clan to 4-0 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
• Port Coquitlam’s Kristina Collins poured in 16 points, including 12 from beyond the arc, but SFU fell 71-50 to the host Seattle Pacific Falcons as the Clan rounded out its GNAC schedule with an 11-7 mark.
• Port Moody’s J.J. Lum of SFU went 3-1 and placed third in the 133-pound division at the Northwest Regional wrestling championships Saturday in San Jose, Cal. to earn a spot in nationals.
