Larkyn Austman's Olympic dream becomes reality sometime during the dinner hour tonight.

The 19-year-old Coquitlam figure skater will skate 11th out of 30 competitors in the Ladies short program at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The event begins at 5 p.m. PST (10 a.m. Wednesday in South Korea).

Her placement after tonight's skate will determine when she skates in Thursday's free program which will also start at 5 p.m. (10 a.m. Friday in South Korea).

Austman is one of three Canadians in the Ladies' figure skating competition. The others are Canadian champion Gabrielle Daleman, who's already earned a gold medal in the team event earlier in the Games, and Kaetlyn Osmond, who was also a part of Canada's gold medal team. Both of them competed at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, where Daleman finished 17th and Osmond placed 13th.

All three women will also represent Canada at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Milan, Italy, March 19-25.
