This summer you can don a swimsuit, grab some friends, and sit back and relax as you float down a scenic B.C. waterway…inside a hot tub boat.

That’s right: A new company claiming to be “Canada’s First Hot Tub on Water” is launching in Victoria, with plans to expand quickly into Kelowna and Vancouver.

Hot Tub Boat Canada is prepping to hit the water on July 6 in Victoria, for outings in the upper harbour and gorge waterway.

No boating licence is required, and the hot tubs have capacity for up to six riders. The “captain” must be at least 19 years old, and all passengers must be at least 12 years old.

The hot tubs are filled with fresh water for each trip, and the hot water is maintained on board by a stove and heated briquettes to last the 1.5-hour rides. Passengers can expect to pay about $65 per person for the experience.
