HIGH HEELS
Slip on some stilettos for Walk a Mile, the annual gender equality event hosted by the Soroptimists Tri-Cities, running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the northeast plaza of Coquitlam Centre mall (off Pinetree Way). Registration is $20 via soroptimisttricities.org.
 

HERITAGE TIME
The Coquitlam Heritage Society invites families with elementary school children to tour one of the city’s oldest homes, Mackin House, during Pro-D Day, make a craft and enjoy some homemade treats, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1116 Brunette Ave. Registration is required; admission is $5 per family (up to three children). PRO-D DIP, SKATE
Families can head over to the City Centre Aquatic Complex (1210 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) for a themed swim during Pro-D Day; the slide, rope swing, diving boards and obstacle course will be open. Or lace up your skates for a twirl at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St., Coquitlam) from noon to 1:15 p.m. or 1:30 to 3 p.m. Admission at $2 includes skates and helmet rentals. PRO-D FILMS
School District 43 students can head over to Tri-City libraries to watch movies this afternoon — for free. The Coquitlam Public Library branches roll Ralph Breaks the Internet at 1:30 p.m. Port Coquitlam starts its movie at 2 p.m. in the Terry Fox Library (2470 Mary Hill Rd.) while the Port Moody Public Library screens the musical Mary Poppins Returns at 1 p.m. in the Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr.). Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
 

YEE-HA!
Get your cowboy boots and hat out for the 4th annual Kickin’ It Country, a fundraiser for the Coquitlam Foundation that’s sponsored in part by The Tri-City News. HOSPICE MUSIC
Songwriter Gary Poole headlines the next Crossroads Coffeehouse in support of the Crossroads Hospice Society. Place des Arts visual arts teacher Rebecca Blair leads the Coquitlam facility’s next adults-only pARTy@PdA, titled Perspective and Prosecco. Blair will show guests how to draw 3D buildings using the same techniques as Renaissance masters. GLORY DAYS
The story of a 1933 female hockey team from Canada plays out at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) at 8 p.m. tonight — and Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m. — with actors Kate Dion-Richard, Katie Ryerson, Advah Soudack, Andrew Wheeler and Morgan Yamada. It’s the 2nd annual spring regatta for dragon boat racers, at Port Moody’s Rocky Point Park. TAKE A HIKE
Pack your binoculars for a half-day birding field trip along the Pitt River Dyke in Port Coquitlam, with Burke Mountain Naturalist Larry Cowan and members of Nature Vancouver. Meet in the main parking lot at 8:30 a.m. next to the public washrooms at Cedar and Victoria drives, at DeBoville Slough. Car pools will be arranged to drive to Nicola Place. RIVERVIEW WALK

The fundraiser supports the Coquitlam Gogos, a branch of the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign.
