The Tri-Cites/Ridge Meadows edition of the Walk to End ALS will start from Riverside secondary in Port Coquitlam on Sunday, June 2 at 11 a.m.

It will be one of 15 held across the province that day to raise money for the ALS Society of BC. The proceeds will go toward providing patient services programs for people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and the ALS Canada research program. According to the society, 3,000 Canadians and their families, including 400 in British Columbia, live with the rapidly progressive disease that causes muscles to lose strength, atrophy and die.

To register or donate online go to walktoendals.ca/british-columbia. Registration for the run on June 2 will begin at 10 a.m.
