Take a tour of the Tri-City Christmas lights

Plenty of lights to view as you tour around local neighbourhoods this holiday season

Christmas lights make the holiday special, lighting our otherwise darkened neighbourhoods this time of year. Once again the Tri-City News shares the Christmas light list with our readers. A new listing was added today. Take time to visit some of these spectacular displays this holiday season.

COQUITLAM

• 2988 Forestridge Pl.: The Bilesky family display features lots of lights and yard decorations from Disney characters, wise men and angels to a herd of grazing reindeer on the rooftop. Santa appears out of the chimney. There is a special photo area where children will enjoy listening to the animated Santa and snowman. Lights are on daily until Jan. 4 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Donations are accepted for Variety — The Children's Charity.

• 3376 Creston Close: The Lanctot-Montgomery home is once again ready for viewing from 5 to 11 p.m. until Jan. 1. Tens of thousands of LED lights as well as snowmen, penguins and other assorted lit characters with a lighting scheme of red and white — and touch of green here and there. Be sure to watch for Santa Claus in the upstairs window above the garage, where he will be watching and waving to everyone who visits.

• 1417 Garibaldi Pl.: John and Trudy invite you to enjoy their homemade Christmas for  the 34th year. More than 100 hand-painted display pieces on house and in the yard. Two themes: traditional Christmas with manger scene, shepherds, wise men and angels; plus contemporary Christmas with Santa, reindeer, toy trains, nutcrackers and singing snowmen — all lit up with more than 4,000 lights. Display is open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

• 927 Lillian St.: Pretty display of thousands of twinkling lights, polar bears, penguins, snowmen, horse and carriage, trees, presents, shivering snowman, snowflakes, candy canes, etc. Open daily through Jan. 1, 4:30 to 10 p.m.

• 365 Hickey Dr.: The Ho Ho House on Hickey features 1,370 channels controlling 12,500 lights, including a mega tree, multiple mini trees, a candy cane fence and, of course, HO HO HO's. Open 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily.

 

PORT COQUITLAM

• 3313 Rae St.: More than 100,000 lights plus ground displays synchronized to music plus a decorated 70-foot tree at the "Miracle on Rae Street." Lights will be on Sunday to Thursday, 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 5 to 11 p.m.. Contributions to the food bank will be gratefully accepted. The homeowners request that, as a courtesy to their neighbours, visitors don't block or turn around in driveways.

• 2191 Grant Ave.: Gene Hartley has 40,000 lights, Santa Claus and his reindeer, mini blow-up figurines, a giant nutcracker, Santa Claus Christmas musical Elvis Presleys and find-a-Grinch for the kids.
