Tri-Cities SPCA to host ‘Pints and Paws’ fundraiser

The Tri-Cities branch of the SPCA is headed to the pub to raise money for desperate animals

The Tri-Cities branch of the BC SPCA spends countless hours rehabilitating, caring for and finding homes for strays — now it’s going to the pub.

The BC SPCA Tri-Cities Education and Adoption Centre’s annual ‘Pints and Paws’ fundraising event is coming back, June 2, to Coquitlam’s John B Neighbourhood Pub.

For $25, you’ll get a vegan, vegetarian or fish burger with fries, and to wash it all down, a glass of wine, a beer or a highball. There will also be a silent auction and a host of games and activities.

All the money raised at the event will go towards creating a better life for the animals who come to stay at the SPCA following a cruelty investigation or when owners can’t care for their animals.

“There are so many amazing animals available for adoption at our centre,” said Dianne Stebner, the manager of the adoption centre.

“We provide food, shelter, veterinary care and a loving environment until new homes can be found for these animals but we rely entirely on community donations. That’s why events like Pints and Paws are so important.”
