Coquitlam author Roshni Kashyap will launch her book of poems Thursday in Vancouver.
Kashyap, who has Down syndrome, will release her publication Don’t Forget You’re Beautiful on Sept. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 420 at Vancouver Community College (250 West Pender St.).
The poems convey her feelings about a society that sees her as a label rather than a “thinking emotional person,” according to a press release.
A UBC student who is part of the STEPS forward program, Kashyap is an entrepreneur who sells sauces under Rosh's Chutneys.
Last year, she was named Most Outstanding Alumni in the VCC food services program.
