Abstract work from SFU education professor Michèle Schmidt is now on the walls of the Port Moody Public Library.
The self-taught artist uses mixed mediums, heavy and pouring acrylics, palette knives, brushes and textures to create.
"Painting is a part of my being and helps me express emotions and thoughts visually rather than with words. It also teaches me mindfulness and how to be in the present," said Schmidt in a news release.
The library is located in Port Moody city hall (100 Newport Dr.).
