TUTS extends its summer run again

Two musical theatre productions featuring 10 Tri-City residents and teachers will extend their runs this month.

For the sixth consecutive time in Theatre Under the Stars’ 79-year history, the company has added another week to its summer season at the Malkin Bowl at Stanley Park.

Sheryl Anne Wheaton, an instructor at Coquitlam’s Lindbjerg Academy and the Tri-City Dance Centre, stars as Rosie in Mamma Mia!, which also includes in its cast Tri-City residents Arta Negahban, Erin Matchette and Brianna Kim.

Disney’s Newsies, which runs on TUTS alternating nights, features Tri-City actors Kyra Leroux, Sebastian Issighos, Julia McLean and David Lees are in the ensemble while Nathan Piasecki plays Romeo and Heritage Woods secondary student Jordyn Bennett is Les Jacobs (Davey’s younger brother).
