Po Chu Kwok and her husband Wai Por Fong plan on hitting the road after finding out they matched all 10 numbers in the Lotto 6/49 Draw held Jan. 9, 2019 to win the $1 million guaranteed prize.

“My husband went to check our tickets,” said Kwok. “He came back to grab me to go to the machine and asked me to look at it. I was so shocked.”

Kwok and her husband are empty nesters and now have big plans to see the world.

“We never travelled for long because we had children,” Kwok said. “They’re all grown up so now we can do whatever we want. Europe is definitely on my list of places to see.”

Kwok and Fong said that when they broke the news to their daughter, she didn’t believe them.

“She was shocked,” recalls Fong. “She started laughing because she thought it was a joke, but when she found out it was real, she just kept laughing. So very happy.”

The lottery win is extra special for Kwok and Fong as Chinese New Year is right around the corner.

“First thing is first. We are going out to celebrate with a nice dinner,” said Kwok.

“I always wished it would be me that wins,” she added. “Now that dream has come true and it will let us enjoy life more comfortably.”
