Best Damn Country MusicFest coming to Prince George in August

The Best Damn Country MusicFest will be at the Prince George Exhibition Grounds Aug. 12 and 13.

The Best Damn Country MusicFest will take place at the Exhibition Grounds near CN Centre Aug. 12 and 13 featuring CCMA and Juno Award winning superstar headliners Brett Kissel Friday night and Dean Brody Saturday night.

Other performers include Hunter Brothers, Corb Lund, The Washboard Union, Aaron Pritchett, The Chris Goodwin Band, Kym Gouchie & Northern Lights and Rick Stavely.

“We couldn’t be any more excited to be bringing some of the biggest and best names in Canadian country music to Prince George and Northern BC… finally!” Kyle Sampson, festival promoter, said, who had to cancel last year's festival because of Covid-19.

“After months and months of planning, we know that we’re bringing our festival to life in a much bigger and better way and we’re really looking forward to welcoming fans from across the north who are well deserving of a big country party!”

Fans who purchase their tickets before Sunday, June 12 at 11:59pm will automatically be entered into an early-bird sweepstakes for four tickets to see Garth Brooks at his sold-out show at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton on June 24, plus two nights hotel stay and a gas card.

“It’s just our way of saying thanks to the fans who get their tickets early,” Sampson said. Winner will be announced on June 13.

During the festival foodies will enjoy one of the biggest and most diverse selections of food trucks. Fans will have plenty to choose from including Kelly O’Bryan’s, Veg Head, Mini-Donuts, Island Flava, Open Air Café, Lemon Heaven. There will be at least 15 trucks in total.Treasure Cove Casino will bring some fun too with games like giant Jenga, giant beer pong and corn hole, giving fans a chance to win prizes, including free slot play money at the casino.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC will offer by-donation safe rides from the festival.

Camping for the two-day festival will be hosted by the BCNE. Only a limited number of stalls are available for RVs and trailers only – no tents. The limited camping passes are on sale now at TicketsNorth or the CN Centre box office.

Ticket options include Single Day Passes, Two Day Passes, and VIP Packages.

The VIP package includes early access to the site, a VIP tent with a private bar and food service with additional drink options and free pop for the designated driver, covered seating and lounge, premium stage view access, a VIP exclusive stage-front pit, and more.

Aaron Pritchett – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Hunter Brothers – 8 to 9 p.m.

Brett Kissel – 9:30 to 11 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 13, gates open at 3 p.m.

Kym Gouchie & Northern Lights – 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

The Chris Goodwin Band – 5 to 6 p.m.

The Washboard Union – 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Corb Lund – 7:45 to 9 p.m.
