A new legal-focused TV show is scheduled to begin filming in B.C. with its production office based in Richmond.

The CBS show titled So Help Me Todd follows the journey of a “talented but directionless” private investigator named Todd who happens to be the black sheep of his family.

However, he agrees to work for his overbearing mother Joan, who happens to be a successful attorney reeling from the recent dissolution of her marriage, as an in-house investigator.

Skylar Astin is set to play the role of Todd while Marcia Gay Harden will play Joan.

The CBS TV pilot – a standalone episode of a TV series used to test the waters of the filming – was filmed in mid-March this year.

Oscar winner Geena Davis, who was originally casted to play Joan in the show, exited the CBS pilot after a table read and the pilot filming.

The film is scheduled to film from July 27 to Dec. 16 of this year, according to Creative BC.
