Police seized a large number of pills from an unoccupied vehicle in a Brentwood parking lot Saturday.

A drug dealer’s bad parking job led police to a stash of pills in an unoccupied vehicle Saturday.

At about 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 20, Burnaby RCMP's gang enforcement team was conducting patrols in a parking lot at the Amazing Brentwood mall when they spotted an unoccupied Kia Sportage compact SUV “parked at an unusual angle, sticking into a lane of traffic,” according to an RCMP email to the NOW.

“When officers got closer to the window of the vehicle, they observed a large quantity of pills in multiple packages in plain view inside,” the email said.

The Sportage, which was registered to a "known drug trafficker," according to police, was seized as part of the investigation.

Besides the pills, police also found contraband cigarettes, mushrooms and a pair of cell phones.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
