To help businesses cope through the struggles of COVID-19, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce (PGCC) is bringing back a business development forum early next year.

#TrueNorth has kicked off Resource Week in Prince George for numerous years, with a focus on providing tools that hope to build a more 'resilient and prosperous' northern B.C. region.

The PGCC says given the challenges experienced, this coming event may be the most important to date.

“Given the challenges experienced by business in 2020 and likely the early months of 2021, we wanted to focus on the leadership challenges and how we, collectively, move forward towards a strong economic recovery in B.C,” said PGCC CEO Todd Corrigall in a news release.

“Northern B.C. is home to a diverse and evolving economy, one that has been developed and fostered by strong leaders – both at the individual and corporate levels.”

While the program continues to evolve, the Chamber is announcing the preliminary keynote presentation from David Irvine and Ally Stone.

Irvine is a #TrueNorth alum who will focus, on ‘Leading Through Disruption’, a new program built around the challenges of the pandemic, recovery, team engagement and personal growth.

In addition to the above, a panel discussion featuring exceptional female leaders from diverse backgrounds will be moderated by local Prince George entrepreneur and mentor, Shauna Harper.

The event will take place Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on a virtual platform.

Tickets for the event are available online and registration is $25 for Chamber members and $55 for non-members.
